Subject: What a God we serve!

I may get on this subject a little too often for some of you, but I can't help it. I believe that looking at God helps us put everything else into right perspective. An example I like to use of this is how one can hold a small object very close to their eyes and effectively blot out everything else from their vision. Try it right now by lifting one small object (an envelope, your hand, etc.) and place it flat against your face at eye level. What do you see? That hand, envelope, or whatever you're using looks pretty big, doesn't it? Now begin to move it away from you. See how your idea of it gets into right perspective as it gets out to a proper distance, or, where it really belongs? Notice also that other things in your field of view seem to grow larger in relationship to that small object as it moves away from you. Now, apply that to the "mountains" in your life. When they occupy "center stage" they seem huge and block your vision of everything else, including God, but, as you turn your eyes towards Him, they shrink in comparison.

I often tell you of God's awesomeness by reminding you HE is totally aware of every single person in the world. Hebrews 4:13 reminds us in this way: And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. HE is intimately acquainted with and involved in each of their lives. Now remember that means HE's keeping up with (I believe the last count I heard was) about 4.5 billion individuals all at the same time. My mind can't really take that in, because trying to really concentrate on more than one at a time is impossible for us humans, but our awesome God knows every thought, word, and deed of everyone of us right now, and it is not giving Him a headache. Now, break that down (well, actually multiply that) with the fact that each one of us 4.5 billion people is comprised of several hundred distinct body parts, each performing several functions continuously. Carry it on out as you remember that each of those body parts is made up of billions of cells operating continuously, which in turn are made up of billions of other even smaller parts, that in turn are made up of, well, I hope you get my point, because my head starts to hurt trying to remember all the subdivisions our marvelously designed bodies include. Even each DNA strand contains billions of definitively coded bits of information. On and on it goes, as true science uncovers more of the true complexity of these bodies we occupy. Now you don't have to be a math major to do just a little multiplication and come to the realization that our God, in fulfilling just His "all-knowing" attribute, is so far beyond our comprehension. Keep that in front of your eyes and it will keep those nagging fears and worries of the "unknown" in the proper perspective. I may not know all the "what ifs" and "what abouts" of life, but MY GOD DOES, and, HE WATCHES OVER ME (my body, soul, and spirit) AND HIS VISION IS PERFECT! HOT DIGGITY DOG, WHAT A GOD WE SERVE!!!!!!

Keep your eyes on Him, and as the song says, "look full at His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace."
