We win!

Subject: We win!

Most often, we picture life as an ongoing contest, one in which we are not sure of the final outcome. We fear the future and whether it will bring "disappointments" or "successes." We are never sure if we will have our health, any of our "possessions" such as job, car, home, money, or whether our loved ones will still be here with us. We are not sure whether we will be living in peace and tranquility or fear and turmoil. So much of life seems to be "up in the air." I want to remind you, though, of a seldom remembered fact we do know about our future, namely, for we who are sealed by the saving blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, "we win!" God's Word assures us that we are "more than conquerors" (winners) in Romans 8. It tells us we can "never be plucked out of God's hands" in John 10 (vss 27-30). When Jesus hung on the cross, HE cried out at the end, "it is finished!", meaning the payment required for our redemption from the wages of sin was "paid in full!" John 3:16 (and a number of other verses) tell us that whoever believes in Him (Jesus) "shall not perish, but have (once they have believed on Him it becomes 'has') everlasting, eternal life." God speaks to us in Deuteronomy 31:6, "Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, HE it is that doth go with thee; HE will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."
