Subject: Some "I will's" of Jesus, part 5

Introduction from part 1: People who make the statement, "I will", quite often "will not!"  It's not that they are necessarily intentionally lying, it's more of a case of saying things in a generalized sense.  "I will" needs a "qualifier" to be more accurate when it comes to people, such as, "I will be at your house by 8 P.M" should have a qualifier added like, "if traffic is not too heavy and my car doesn't break down."  Since very few people use such preciseness in their speech, it means we need to realize they may not do what they say they will.  We cannot take people's statements as "Gospel", meaning absolute fact.  We cannot stake our lives on them being able to accomplish what they say.  God, on the other hand, is absolutely trustworthy.  When HE says I will, you can just settle back and relax on that issue, because HE will!!!  His Word is the law, and cannot be broken.  In this and the other messages in this series, let's look at some of the things Jesus said HE will, and therefore, will do!

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. (John 6:37 (KJV)  Many great and precious promises are found in Scripture, but this is one of the most assuring, peace-giving, words Jesus could have said to sinful wretches like us.  Of all that come to Him for salvation, HE said there is no way HE will throw them out!!!!  When Satan tries to accuse you of your sins, telling you, "surely you've blown it now!  God couldn't let you into Heaven!", I merely need to remember "I will in no wise cast him/her out!"  I love to remember this passage along with another:  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (1 Peter 1:3-5 (KJV)  God keeps my (and your) salvation "locked up" in the vaults of Heaven, where I/you cannot tear it up!  Jesus said "I will not", and therefore HE won't!!  HE saves to the uttermost!

And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:40 (KJV)  Another great and precious promise is stated here.  People try to complicate the Gospel, saying, "surely there is more to it than faith!  You must add in works to be accepted."  Jesus "everyone who believes on Me, I will raise him up on the last day."  That's pretty clear, it's by faith, alone.  There are a number of proof texts, but one especially clear on is the thief on the cross, for he died after professing his belief on Jesus, having no opportunity to add any works, but Jesus promised he would be with Him in Paradise that day (notice there was no stopping in any "limbo", as Catholicism and a few other religions try to teach).  Either Jesus' words in this passage from John 6 are true, or they're not!

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:44 (KJV)  Jesus also made it clear that one must be convicted and drawn by the Father, or they can't come to Jesus, but once the Father calls them and they receive Him by faith, Jesus said "I will raise that one up at the last day."  Jesus will do what HE says HE will do!!!
