(written before the Bush vs. Gore presidential election)

If I was a church, the IRS would tell me I couldn't tell you who I think you should vote for. Well, I'm not a church, but I'm still not going to tell you who you should vote for. I am going to tell you what issue I believe you should vote for. I don't usually recommend that someone be a one issue candidate, nor do I generally believe that a voter should be fixated on only one issue in most elections. The strong voting block of believers has been divided and diluted too many times because of single issue vision. I've been sensing lately, though, that in this presidential election, one issue js of critical importance. I'm sure each of us would have at least one or two "hot button" items we think are top priority, such as: abortion, school prayer, religious freedom, war, sanctity of marriage, etc. Each of these, as well as many others, are very important. I just know that God keeps reminding me of what He said in Genesis 12:2-3. Here God made the promise to Abraham (at that time still known as Abram) that HE was going to make a great nation from his seed and then God said, "And I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curseth him that curseth thee." Many nations have been greatly blessed of God, only to be brought low when they turned against the Jew (Abraham's seed). Study history and you will discover that God was and is very serious about this. I know most people don't really put a lot of weight to this; but I'm convinced it is vitally important that the leader of our nation be one who will stand with Israel; even if it means standing alone with them against the rest of the world. One candidate has a record of this, while the other one wants the approval and consensus of the other nations before he will stand. I know the "world" is on record as being against Israel. Look at the record of the U.N. and the European Economic Union. We know their stance, so the candidate that looks for unity with them is going to be against Israel. I feel strongly convicted to say this to you. I've done what I think I'm supposed to do. I ask you to pray and ask God what He wants you to do. Then do it.

May the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob bless you and

keep you.
Ben
