Subject: Not all the "alls", part 3
The rich
and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of
them all (Proverbs 22:2 (KJV) The divide between the "super rich" and the
"dirt poor" in this world is great. To the poor, acquiring ten
dollars might seem beyond their reach, but to the super rich, the loss of ten
thousand, or, even ten million might not even make a dent in their wealth.
The rich and the poor feel almost as if they were "from different worlds", but
our Scripture verse reminds us: the LORD is the maker of them
all. Every one of us were made by the hand of God, we
all share the same heritage and the same two choices of
futures. The twelve Disciples, as they walked with Jesus, exhibited the
same mindset as we do today; the idea that the rich are specially blessed of
God, and the poor are not. We extend that thought to the belief the rich
will automatically enter Heaven because they are "better" than other
people. God's Word cannot be clearer than it is about this idea; no one
comes into eternity with God except through their faith in Jesus
and His sacrifice, death, burial, and resurrection. All are met
together in their utter need of His saving grace: the LORD is the maker of them
all.
Every
valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the
crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of
the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath
spoken it. The voice said, Cry. And he
said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness
thereof is as the flower of the
field (Isaiah
40:4-6 (KJV) Mountains and hills seem permanent to us;
they are so large and imposing, but God will lay them all flat by His mighty
power. No thing and no one will be able to appear elevated before the
throne of God, all will be equal before Him. God alone is on the
throne. We are but lowly sinners in desperate need of His saving
grace, received through calling upon Jesus in faith.
All nations before him are as nothing;
and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity. (Isaiah 40:17
(KJV) People from some of the smaller countries of our world are awed by
the resources and power held by the United States of America. We, in turn,
are awed by the very idea of the volume of inhabitants of nations like China. No
matter what standard you use to compare the nations of the world,
all of them are as nothing when placed before our
God. All the riches and wealth on earth are
but a drop in the bucket of His wealth. All the
nuclear weapons combined on earth are nothing against His power. At the
last battle, the one we call Armageddon, when all the nations of the earth
gather and shake their collective fists at God in rebellion, they will learn
their great power and might are counted as nothing to the Almighty God. HE
will slay them all by His Word, just as HE created all things and holds them up
by that same spoken Word. (Revelation 1:16, 19:15 & 21, Proverbs 2:6,
33:6, Hebrews 1:3, 11:3, 2 Peter 3:5)
Lift up your eyes on
high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by
number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his
might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth. (Isaiah 40:26
(KJV) Today's astro-scientists, with their ultra high power methods of
finding and identifying stars tell us there are billions and billions of stars
in the universe. The number estimated by one group in 2007 was 1
sextillion. That's 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars by
their estimate. In contrast, the Bible states in Jeremiah 33:22
that “the host of heaven CANNOT BE NUMBERED.” The more powerful
man's methods of "finding" stars become, the more their estimate
enlarges. In other words, man cannot number all the
stars, yet our God calleth them all by names by the
greatness of his might!! God not only knows the full number, HE has
named every one of them, individually! It's just a
picture captured by one of man's most powerful space telescopes, but look
at this computer enhanced picture and get an inkling of the vastness
of our God.

Now, recognize that many of those "dots" you see
in this picture are really whole galaxies of millions of stars each, so
far away that they seem as one, and remember this is just a picture in one
direction, not a 360 degree shot. Our God knows them all,
and HE calls each by their individual name. What a God!!!!!
Let us worship and praise Him in His infinite
glory!
