Subject: No man is above the law

Just what is the law? Is it in the; "natural sciences," a law like "the law of gravity," or, is it in the economic realm, like the "law of supply and demand", or, the legal realm, like "traffic laws, etc.?" The phrase I titled this message with, "no man is above the law," pertains to the legal aspect of the law and the "law" as ruling over all men. We know, though, that the very people who use this statement most vociferously are the very ones who think they are above it! We know that appeals courts, all the way up to and including the U.S. Supreme Court, adapt and even totally change the intent of a law at their own discretion. They take the plain words of a legal document like the constitution and say, "that's not what the framers meant, let us tell you what they meant to say," and thereby put themselves above the law. Politicians, who make the laws of our land, loftily tell mere police officers, who stop them for breaking the law, that they have immunity from the very laws they helped put on the books.

We all know the examples I've just cited are wrong, for no man should be above a true and moral law. We think we know that no man is above natural laws like gravity, and every one is surely bound by the "law of supply and demand". Well, you might be right, if those laws are based on the law of God! God's law is the only thing that no man is above, for no man is above God.

The "law of gravity" didn't hold Jesus down as HE "ascended up into the heavens" as it tells us in Acts (and it won't hold down a single believer when HE says, come up)! The "law of supply and demand" didn't keep Jesus from feeding 5,000 men, plus women and children, with just one little boy's lunch, and, at that, still had 12 large baskets of leftovers. God can do any thing HE wants. If man says, you're going to; lose your life, lose your health, lose your job, lose your home, or anything else, because of some "law" he thinks the world operates under, don't fret. No man is above the law, but, God is no man!!!!!!!!!!!! It's His court!

Rest in His strong arms, walk on in His promise, trust in His holy Word. Give when HE says, "give." Speak when HE says, "speak." Do what HE says, “do.”
